10 Quotes Every Dramatic Woman Should Live By

If you remember our article, Don’t Keep Calm Be Dramatic, it was all about what it means to be a dramatic woman. We are eliminating the negative connotation associated with the word and starting a movement we want all dramatic women to join. The dramatic woman is classy, successful, unique, and keeps her hair as beautiful as her heart. Below are 10 dramatic quotes from some dramatic women.

“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” ― Coco Chanel

“Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clean to the bone.” ― Dorothy Parker

“I don’t mind being burdened with being glamorous and sexual. Beauty and femininity are ageless and can’t be contrived, and glamour, although the manufacturers won’t like this, cannot be manufactured. Not real glamour; it’s based on femininity.” ― Marilyn Monroe

“If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.” - Katharine Hepburn.

“Your dresses should be tight enough to show you’re a woman and loose enough to show you’re a lady.” - Edith Head

“A busy vibrant woman goal oriented woman is so much more attractive than a woman who waits around for a man to validate her existence. “Mandy Hale

“I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass.” – Maya Angelou

Judy Garland: “Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.” – Judy Garland

“The question isn’t who’s going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.” - Ayn Rand

“Expect the unexpected, and whenever possible, be the unexpected.” - Lynda Berry

4 Celebrities Known for Their Flawless Tresses

As a celebrity, it’s a lot of pressure to be perfect from head to toe every time you step into the public eye. We see in magazines all of the time the celebrities who were caught with a hair out of place or who were fashion police victims. Celebrities are humans who fall short sometimes, but there are some celebs that never miss a beauty beat. Here are five women who never disappoint when it comes to hair.

Gabrielle Union: As we spent the last two seasons watching Union be Mary Jane, she earned herself a spot on this list. The actress usually goes for simplicity when it comes to her hair. Whether the starlet goes sleek or ops for curls, her tresses are gorgeous. Union doesn’t just take the hair crown on TV sitcoms, but she is also on the big screen. The paparazzi are always on the lookout for the wrong move, but they haven’t caught Union slipping.

Toya Wright: Once only known as Lil Wayne’s baby mother, Wright is making a name for herself. Wright takes her followers into her life on her Instagram page, and her hair should have a following of its own. Wright switches it up from long locks to banging bobs, and we love both on her.

Porsha Williams: The Real Housewives of Atlanta star hasn’t disappointed yet with her styles. Williams always rocked her jet-black tresses on the popular reality show, but she is known to experiment away from the camera. Even in short wigs and blonde extensions, Williams hair remains in tack. For now, she has the title as the housewife with the best hair.

Tia Mowry: Who knew this sister would grow up to be a fashionista? Mowry has been serving it in the hair area for the past few years. We all remember her long curly locks from the hit show Sister, Sister. It looks like Mowry has traded in her long locks for classy cuts and elegant extensions.  If you follow Mowry on Instagram, you may have been a witness to her hair rollercoaster. We’re not sure what look she will be rocking next, but we’re sure it will be flawless.

When it comes to hair, these four celebrities get it right every time. Which celebrity takes the hair trophy in your opinion?

You know Your Weave is Cheap When…

How many times has the “you get what you pay for” notion proven itself to be true? You pay a few thousand dollars for a car, and it breaks down on you after a year. You purchase a name brand purse for half the price and later you realize it’s not really name brand. You pay your cousin $20 to color your hair blonde, but the results leave you with purple tresses. We all like a great bargain, but there are some areas of life than require an investment. Hair extensions shouldn’t wipe out your entire bank account, but they also shouldn’t cost the same as a t-shirt. We don’t want any woman falling victim to cheap weave, so we sell the best extensions at Dramatic Allusions. However, not everyone goes dramatic. Below are the qualities of cheap weave.

  • Shed: All weave sheds, but some types of weave sheds more than others. If your weave is cheap, you will find yourself sweeping hair more often. Weave shedding is related to the way the hair is weft and sealed. Other causes of shedding are cutting, piercing, and splitting the wefts.
  • Tangle and Matte: Jewelry and clothes may tangle, but hair weave should not. Who wants to spend hours combing out weave? Quality hairs weaves are more manageable and tangle less than others. In cheaper hair, the roots and the tips are mixed which causes tangling.
  • Product build up: Products placed on low quality weave has a tendency to linger longer, and it causes build up. Product build up will also lead to hair odor. You shouldn’t need a lot of product on your hair, but if you find yourself using oil with cheap weave apply to the scalp and not hair.
  • No longevity: A good, quality weave usually lasts for several installs. Some weaves can last up to a year if cared for properly. If you find yourself throwing hair away every three months then it’s time to up your hair weave budget. You should be able to color, wash and apply heat to weave. If the longevity of your weave is shorter than a season chances are it’s too cheap.

So, does your weave have all of these qualities? The truth may hurt, but if you know better hopefully you will do better. When in doubt, buy Dramatic hair.

Brazilian, Indian and Malaysian: What’s the Difference?

Do you ever feel overwhelmed when purchasing hair? What appears to be a simple process can be more complicated than you think. You have to decide on the brand, length, and type before even enjoying the hair. No one is born with a degree in hairology, so at first glance it can be difficult to distinguish between the hair types and decide which one is right for you. Brazilian, Indian and Malaysian are three of the most common Virgin hair types. Although the differences between the hair types are very subtle, it is still a good idea to be informed. Below is your guide to knowing the difference between Brazilian, Indian and Malaysian hair.

It is debatable where Brazilian hair is from, but is one of the most popular hair types on the market. This hair type is dense and very soft to the touch. It comes in a variety of different hair textures such as body wave, straight, loose wave and deep wave. Brazilian hair is never bone straight and even the straight texture has a natural wave to it. Because the hair can be coarse, it is great for blending with thick, course hair types. Brazilian hair is great for curling, and it is silkier than Indian hair.

Do you remember seeing someone with good hair and wondering if they had Indian in their family? Indian hair is fine and moves like air, but it can frizz in humid weather. Unlike Brazilian hair, Indian hair is not full of bounce, and it has a straighter and sleeker appearance.  Indian hair is recommended for natural African Americans because it’s not too shiny and the hair reflects light better.

Women are starting to gravitate to Malaysian hair because of its versatility and low maintenance. Malaysian hair can blend with a variety of hair textures. The hair is soft, silky and shiny, but the shine wears off after a few washes. It’s thick and has a natural hair color that is darker than the others. This type holds curls very well. Malaysian hair can be purchased in straight, wavy and curly.

So, which hair type is right for you? There is no right or wrong choice. The important thing is making sure you have information to make the right decision. And, Dramatic Allusions offered a variety of hair types for purchase. Don’t forget to shop Dramatic here.
